A Need We Feed is proud to join Nourish the American Dream, a nationwide campaign created by the Albertsons Companies Foundation’s Nourishing Neighbors program to help fight childhood hunger across the country.
1 out of 5 kids in America faces hunger. For millions of children, weekends, holidays, and summer break can bring uncertainty about where their next meal will come from. When school is out, meals often disappear. That reality affects families in communities across the country, including right here in Ocean County.
Because the American Dream Starts With a Full Plate
Nearly 250 years after America was founded on a shared vision that brought people together, this campaign calls on communities across the country to rally around another shared purpose: helping nourish every child’s potential.
This July 4, in honor of America’s 250th anniversary, the Albertsons Companies Foundation launched Nourish the American Dream, a bold, nationwide, multi-year movement focused on helping end childhood hunger.
A Need We Feed is honored to take part in this effort alongside organizations across the country that are working to make sure more children and families have access to the food they need to grow, learn, and thrive.
How This Campaign Supports A Need We Feed
From July 1 through July 7, every dollar we raise through this campaign supports A Need We Feed’s mission and also contributes to Nourish the American Dream’s collective $5 million goal.
That means support generated during this campaign helps strengthen our work here in Ocean County while also contributing to a larger nationwide effort to address childhood hunger.
A Need We Feed provides nutritious meals to veterans, seniors, children, and families in need throughout our community. We know that when families are stretched thin, children often feel the impact first. This campaign gives us an opportunity to raise support for our local mission while standing with nonprofits across the country around a shared cause.
