Post Update! We had such a great time on Wednesday night at the โVolleyball for Vetsโ event at Donovan Catholic High School!
We are beyond impressed with Student Council President Rocco and Vice President Luke. These two went above and beyond to create, organize, and flawlessly execute an incredible fundraiser to support the Veteran clients we serve. Their leadership, energy, and dedication truly made this event shine.
A huge thank-you to all of the students who donated and participated. You played your hearts out and made the night a tremendous success!
And a very special thank-you to Donovan Catholicโs very own Mrs. C, who is also our dear friend and longtime supporter. We are so grateful for her unwavering encouragement and commitment to our mission.
It was truly an honor to attend such a fun, meaningful, and inspiring night.

Donovan Catholic Students Rally for A Need We Feed
Weโre thrilled to share some inspiring news from Donovan Catholic High School. The President and Vice President of the Student Body Council, Rocco and Luke, have organized a Volleyball Tournament fundraiser to benefit A Need We Feed on Wednesday, November 12 at 6 PM.
711 Hooper Ave, Toms River, NJ 08753
Event snapshot
- Two student-led teams will compete.
- Students are donating $15 each to playโ~30 of 40 spots are already filled.
- Theyโre promoting the event across campus and a $2 spectator entry will help raise even more support.
- 100% of proceeds benefit A Need We Feedโs meal program for veterans, homebound seniors, families, and neighbors experiencing homelessness.
Community Response to the SNAP Pause
As many households feel the impact of the ongoing SNAP pause, weโre expanding our outreach and adding meals for clients in need. In November alone, weโve added 16 meals across five households. Hereโs how our community partners are stepping upโand how you can help:
Current Collection Drives
- Toms River Elks Lodge (Washington St., Toms River):
Non-perishable food collection for the next three Wednesdays, 1:30โ3:30 PM. - Code 1 Creations (Lacey):
Collecting on our behalf, thank you, Christine!
Most-needed non-perishables: canned proteins (tuna, chicken), soup, chili, shelf-stable milk, peanut butter, pasta, rice, cereal, fruit cups, granola bars.
Coordinating with Fulfill
We met with Janelle, VP of Community Impact at Fulfill, to align on near-term support. Fulfill is concentrating efforts on children and families impacted by school meal gaps and furloughs and has crisis food boxes available that we can request to bridge short-term needs. Weโll match these resources with what comes in from our community collections.
